Jon Carlon, our footwear buyer, has put together a list of running shoes he recommends for those who will be participating in our Sanavita 5K run or walk event to raise funds for the West Island Women's Shelter on October 1st

Whether you already have a pair of running shoes and are looking to upgrade, or are looking to purchase your first
pair, the recommendations below will not disappoint!

The Pegasus 33 (Nike)

This is the most popular of the Nike running shoe range. It is one of the shoes we recommend the most, especially to beginners, because of how balanced it is. Soft Cushlon midsole with two Zoom units (heel and

forefoot) make it a perfect every day Runner.

The Zoom Vomero 11 (Nike)

The Zoom Vomero 11 offers Lunarlon technology in the midsole to deliver soft cushioning. It is possibly Nike's most
cushioned running shoe, with Zoom Air units both in the heel and the forefoot. Ideal for logging lots of KM.

The Air Zoom Elite (Nike)

The Air Zoom Elite is a lightweight, responsive shoe that doubles up as a high mileage trainer and race shoe. It features a Phylon midsole with Zoom Air on the forefoot, engineered mesh upper with asymmetrical lacing.

The GEL-Quantum 360 (Asics) is a neutral cushion shoe – with 360 degrees of gel cushion! (That’s the most gel ever!)

The upper is Asics’s Asymmeetrical Fluidfit Upper – the stretch mesh is extremely comfortable and fits like a glove.
Includes the Asics Full Length Trusstic System (Energy is collected and released for a spring loaded ride). The shoe
is a little bit slimmer and more snug in the mid foot than most Asics runners.

The Gel-Quantum 180 (Asics)

Gel in the GEL-Quantum 180 running shoe spans the entire back half of the outsole, while the rest is the same as the
Quantum 360.

The Nimbus 18 (Asics)

After 18 years of innovation, the Nimbus series continues to be one of ASICS’ most recognized high performing
footwear models. The new GEL placement is designed to improve adaptability and reduce brisk impacts.
Gel pods in heel and forefoot are ideal for logging lots of KM for the neutral runner.
